How to Get Traffic to Your Website
If you’ve had a website for any amount of time, you know the hard part is not making the website – it’s getting traffic to your website.

There are many ways to get visitors to your website, and many of them are free. However, you must keep in mind that getting visitors to your website is an ongoing process. You must continue in your traffic getting techniques. If you don’t, you may see traffic in spurts. A continuous flow of traffic is what we’re after here, not a burst of traffic that ends as soon as it started.
How to Get Traffic to Your Websites
- After your website is efficiently produced (and I mean you have enough posts or pages to make the internet gods happy – I would say at least 9), submit your website to RSS submission sites. This will get you valuable backlinks which will increase your rankings with the search engines, but also traffic to your site. Many people search RSS sites, looking for information. If your site is listed, you will get traffic to your site.
- Post articles. I know it’s been said a million times over, but it’s true! If you post at least an article a day on various article directories (make sure you have links posting back to your site), you’ll increase the amount of visitors to your site, and also gain backlinks. When someone reads your article and you have a link at the end, they may click on it to read more information.
- Submit pages of your website to social bookmarking sites. You guessed it – you’ll get backlinks for your site, but also visitors. The same rule applies here: when someone is searching the internet for something in particular, or searching bookmarking sites, if your site is listed, you’ll get clicks on your link.
- Continue posting on your website. The more content you have, the more authority the search engines will give you, moving you up in the ranks of the search engines.
- PPC – I do not recommend using this way if you are just starting out. You will lose money. However, it is a highly effective way to receive instant traffic to your site. Do not try PPC unless you have done research on how it should be done properly. Trust me on this.
- Post on forums. Make sure you have a signature enabled, so when people are reading your posts, they’ll see the link at the bottom. If they are interested in what the link says, they’ll visit your site.
The above methods are very effective methods in getting traffic to your site. If you do the above in conjunction, your traffic stats will continue to increase, and your sales of course, will also.
