To the affiliate marketer who is a newbie, you will, as time goes by that affiliate marketing is more than just getting commission sales and placing banners on your website. Its that and more. While the act of placing ads on your website may sound easy its more to it than that. You have to approach affiliate marketing as you would approach your own business. Because it is partly promoting others as well as your own business services. You still have to have a marketing, business, and financial plan and goals. You still have to advertise and sell your audience on what you have to offer.
When you decide to enter the world of affiliate marketing, you really can’t see it simply as making HUGE amounts of money. You have to give your business the plan it needs in order to be competitive then you would integrate the affiliate marketing aspect some time later. Your own business model has to be configured and tested before you can add another business model to it. You have to get the first one done then move on to the next one. You can’t just throw them both together.
There are some affiliate marketers who are making the mistake of putting them both together and not considering one without the other. They should each have their own plan and them tie them together and then go from there. You will miss an important step when you separate one from the other. I have seen both sides of this and the fact that I decided I wanted to be successful made me with ease change the plan and become more effective and profitable. Business is about change. Embrace it and you can be very successful.
If you decide to integrate affiliate marketing with your current business model, take into consideration the impact that one will have on the other. Just like the economy affects how we live, so does the integration of affiliate marketing into your business. You have be cognitive of change when and where you need it. You have to be on the cutting edge to be able to change and sometimes quickly when the situation calls for it. Complacency has its place, but not in business if you really want to be on the leading edge of the spectrum and desire long term profitability.
